Can someone give me some advise on how many frames/ 500g .4 wire would do ?The frames are wired vertical and 4 rows of wire on dadant shallow.
Thanks

.
My advise is that it is enough for 4 hives and when the wire seems to go to end, buy a new bobbin.

I use to have at least 2 bobbins, if I have lost the one or it is finish, the other saves me at critical moment.

What are you doing with your wire wightbees?

If using MD, your deep frames will need a couple of cross/horizontal wires if using wired foundation.

And if using wired foundation in your super frames ... that is enough. No extra wiring required.

Perhaps you are just wiring your frames and using unwired foundation.

.
Critical moments are
- swarm is out
- I must give foundations to the hive to draw or
- drawn combs are finish

I am buying frames from abroad that i have a sample of.They need wire to support the foundation and are of a different size to the UK Dadant, so i am going to trim the foundation a little to fit.As i make my hives the frame issue is not a problem and i have ordered 1500 frames so i know i will not run out :)
