Queens will carry on laying until the swarm takes off
The evidence of QC's including at least one with a larva in suggests too me that they are well into swarming mode
Hi JB
Did wonder if they had got into swarming mode, but this morning their behaviour is different, last week the number of bees hanging around on the landing board was slowly increasing until there was around 100 just like last time they got swarm head on, today there is not one and they are back to foraging, think there must be a flow on some where as it very heavy traffic.

will need to learn more about colony manipulation, its OK reading it in books but think some more practical experience is needed.

For a while, I thought it might be one of these spamming 'bots' but I've read that they usually take a stream of random words and form them into coherent sentences.
This one seems to do the exact opposite.

Will a swarm swarm again? Don't know.

Will a swarm abscond if you mess it about too much, including destroying all the wild comb they drew because your new frames didn't arrive from the supplier in time? Yes. Yep, they will definitely do that.

Practical experience as comments here largely report is simply a matter
of trying all the variations in 'step one, step two...etc" as some will point an enquirer
to as **their** philosophy in handling Reproduction, which is what swarming actually
is.
Far more productive to study the four phases and sort your Plan for each.
Establishment/Survival/Expansion/Reproduction.

The very basic 'problem' for most new player is their Plans focus on Establishment
- and so one colony quickly becomes ten and so outgrows both the yard and the b'kps
recreational time limits. Were professionals to follow that same path an apiary
would double numbers in a single season, 500 becomes 1000.
Not finanacially doable.
