Hard to tell, but cheaper IIRC.

If you want really good frames, National Bee Supplies. Really nice frames but don't expect them to be cheap. Maisee seconds do it for me.

Had National Bee Supplies bookmarked. Noted for quality, but £19.50 for the equivalent 14 by 12 so understand what you mean by pricey.

Maisee seconds at £40.50 seems a steal in comparison but couldn't find the prices for Thorne seconds.

Thanks for all the feedback. Has anyone tried any of the others? There are a few others that I looked at. Although saying that bought a bee suite from Simon the Beekeeper used it once and the zipper broke the second time I used it.

Have become weary of a similar problem for the girls.

So as not to leave a bad review hanging, I sent it back (postage paid) and they promptly refunded on arrival.

Not had any problems with their other products.

Service was polite and understanding (email).

So although I remain unsure about the quality of their bee suits, everything else is good especially for the price.

Just thought people should know.

Tried them, thought they were horrid! they twist and don't sit straight, never again! :(

I have a single dn4 to try
The wax is much easier to install and cleaning and sterilising them would be easy but they aren't as rigid as timber and the plastic-police might come and put me in prison if I bought more.

Awesome reply. Love this. I need to plan ahead and use the sales more.

Preverably January sales!! Ready for birthdays Christmas etc..
Sorry a late one Colin!

The only time they twist is if I boil them in washing soda. I now have a temperature-adjustable Burco-type boiler and clean the frames at setting 4/5.
The advantage of plastic frames is that nails and hammer are not needed - I keep my frames and wax foundation in my apiary. The frames open like a book and I pop in a sheet of foundation and click closed - only takes a few seconds.
I seem to be the only beekeeper who is keeping step......
