What are these bees up to?

They keep dashing in and out of the entrance in a frantic manner.
Some bees are dashing / walking rapidly around the outside of the hive.

Definitely not preparing to swarm, I checked them a few days ago and there were no queen cells to be seen.

My guess it is young bees exploring, orientating??

I would like to know why they are so frantic.

Do you have an open mesh floor
If not they may be getting overheated.
Mine do this when its very warm.]
Also try taking the varroa screen out if fitted

Yes, they are on OM floor. 'Tis warm though.
I have also thrown a super on to help keep the hive cooler.

I put a nuc into a national hive yesterday (after watching how to do it on u-tube) and my bees are doing the same as yours which has got me a little worried also I have a few drones walking over the hive and flying but this evening they seem to have calmed down a little
