I'm sure MJBee won't mind me saying, he treated his Warre with oil and beeswax and it looks fantastic.
And Dusty Rhodes and Outlander have posted pictures of theirs, too - made me wish I hadn't painted mine!

Dear blackcavebess,

Who or what is 'T'? And what and where are these English White cedar seconds?

JohnBee1480

T's are a well known beekeeping suppliers - name's blocked to stop commercial advertising ( think of a prickly tree with an E at the end, or the surname of a bald snooker player in the 80's Willie tho**e) they sell second quality cedar (British) flat packed hive parts in their sales which are good value for money, they also sell 'white wood' hive parts - (softwood, so they will need treating).
Another company sells their second quality stuff - CWJ in North Wales - good ssound Welsh surname to give you a clue (not mine BTW)
