Hi. I was on the thrones web site and cant find the conversion rate for wax foundation. I had a person on to me this morning , looking for a couple of kilos of wax for making hand soap and wanted to know what to charge him. I haven't sold to the public for a while , but I usually charge what it cost me for straight exchange and add on a couple of £s. Any know what the exchange rate is so I can work the price.

Maysemore, Wax allowance for goods - £1.35 per lb
Outright purchase price - £1.00 per lb

Honeyshop.co.uk, 500g Tub of Pure Pelleted Beeswax - £12.50

Somewhere in between would be reasonable for clean cappings wax imho

Reasonable prices from paines,
£8.28 A Large Block of Pure Beeswax weighing 800g Approx.
£7.14 Pure beeswax which, although strained, will need to be finely strained before using. Sold as a per Kg.

I recently paid £4 per kilo which I was happy with.
I will exchange it in the spring.
If I were selling I would want £4-5 per pound.

Hi. I was on the thrones web site and cant find the conversion rate for wax foundation...
Not what most ecommerce systems can cope with; they expect a straight sale or return rather than a part exchange. The rates are in the printed catalogue on page 17, there's a downloadable PDF.

The exact rate depends on the example chosen and quantity discounts. For instance, choose round numbers and small quantities and ignore delivery as if you're at a show or shop. The page lists 10 commercial shallows are typical per lb. That would cost you 1.30 to convert. Buying 10 premier wax commercial shallows would be 8.90 so your wax is "worth" £7.60 per lb or over £16 per kilo.

As noted in previous threads. If you are converting some wax and can buy clean wax at much less than that to make up your sheet order, it's worth buying and trading rather than buying new foundation at full price.

It is selling (or maybe not!) for £4.50 per 32g block on one website we frequent! Delivery on top, of course! They call it one ounce, but seems neither to be avoir dupois nor troy ounces, but certainly in the realm of precious metals!
