hi all
a friend of mine has just given up on bee keeping and has donated some of his gear to me,one thing is an unopened bottle of vita feed gold, having never used this before I need to know a:is it any good.
and b:how is this given too the bees
thanks

.
It is said that Vita-Gold is ment against dysentry in Spring and in Autums.
It sounds to me Nosema. What else dysentry exists?

And against big bee dead outs ? ... Not in UK

Strange stuff

I have used it to help build up colonies in spring that have nosema.

Seemed to be effective, but whether it was the vita or they would have recovered anyway who knows, certainly won't do any harm.

In answer to b) you can either dribble it, or add to syrup. should have details on the bottle or look at their website.

Use it, I use it, also when using in 1:1 bee syrup, it stops it going off, for a while.

follow the instructions, when using it, as it's a daily treatment or addition.

It's not cheap!

.
If you read about nosema, it will be healed by itself during spring, if queen is not sick.

Nosema spoils the gut of workers.
