......fondant is about £15 / 10kg including postage / delivery. Based on 50p/Kg for sugar (+ glucose) this home made stuff comes out at about £6/kg .............

Rosti, did you mean £6/10kg, or am I missing something here?

Great video, our association sells it for about 75p/KG but always handy to be able to knock some up in an emergency if necessary.

But it IS a messy business. Particularly if you do what Mr M and I did yesterday - managed to slop some onto the gas stove as we were transferring the pan to the cold water.

The gas burners had to be dismantled to clean them
