I was told that the FIT scheme is actually funded from a levy on electricity supply rather than from general taxation.

and dont be too smug! Future FIT have already been cut and I suspect back dated will also be cut as well in the future.

That is one of the reasons I'm so pleased about the performance of the panels, I have to admit. The sooner I get the price of installation back the better.

James is correct that the FIT scheme is being funded by all electricity users.
The last estimate that I heard was approx. £8 per household which is why the Gov't can't complain about rising energy bills when it is adding to them all in this way.
But like James I hope they don't reduce existing agreements until I've at least reclaimed my investment.
