Vanila.. vanalin

[For want of a better word]

Been given a few packs of Tesco fondant... has a vanilla presumeably vanalin flavouring.
should I feed it to my bees or children ( either / or) ?????????????????

Littlest one calls it "bee spit"........................ always first in with a spoon if there is any honey for the tasting !

Coumarin... the smell of custard tarts also sets me wrenching !
