Hi,
Both my colonies are doing badly. One queenless and another only a frame of eggs. I needed to treat them with MAQs and was considering just putting the boxes together with MAQs. I remember u r not supposed to disturb them much before treatment. Do people think this would be a bad idea or will the smell be string enough to distract them from the unite? Thanks

Bad idea. But you know that already don't you :)

As an aside, the queenless one's brood break will help control varroa.

What's the varroa count on the queen right hive? Ie why are you treating?
Why maqs?

I would always do one step at a time personally, but which step depends on the whys!

Agree with excession. A simple and possible good way to go from potentially no colonies to certainly no colonies.

Think again.

Varroa count was 50 on one and instructions say to treat all colonies.
Now that you mention it, it is a bloody stupid idea.

Thanks

But.....would you have reached that decision without voicing it here? So.....job done!
Good luck with both colonies

Thanks,
Think I have a new swarm in my bait hive so that might help in the long run.
