A quick question regarding UFEs and wasps. I will soon be bringing my colony home and have made up an UFE as per the video Black Mountain Honey posted.

I have a couple of plum trees in my garden so, later in the year, we do get a fair number of wasps gorging on the windfalls.

Will my UFE be sufficient to mitigate against wasps or would I be best reducing the width of the front entrance of the UFE once the jaspers appear (i.e. is the 8mm entrance slit enough, on its own and at full width, to keep them at bay)?

Thanks all, always learning (y) :);)

I do sometimes in the nucs. I make the entrance slot a good few inches back and reduce it all the way back so that the bees have a tunnel entrance
