Just got back from one of the apiaries and in one colony I have had two queens since last August. They were on the same comb together but the problem is that there are three frames of sealed brood but some of the brood is mixed drone brood.

Now the problem I have is which one is the drone layer?
How do I go about finding out and what does the panel think I should do?

I suppose its pretty reasonable to expect the old girl to be running dry if she is being superceded.
Unless the drone brood were something above say 1/3, I'd just let them get on with it. If its still the same story in a few weeks, you might intervene, but I can't see the need to fiddle right now.
Supercedure being a desirable trait, having drones around from that maternal line can only be a good thing, can't it?

I think you could be right about. The colony is in the apiary where i usually do the grafting. I'll see how they are in a few weeks time.
