Very true ,
but to keep in in perspective as a % of accidental deaths, capital punishments account for less than .0001%. Add to that the deaths from war mongering ,yes and bee stings the % becomes even smaller ..

How many innocent lives have been extinguished by convicted murderers whilst on parole ? far more than innocent people have been hung as guilty .
