Wordle 717 3/6
Lucky 3!
Lucky 3!
Thanks Roche. I'm looking for some holiday reading matter - so that will be going on the list! The first time I met it was reading John McNab by John Buchan - It's a good read, and imprinted the word on me for life.
Group lock-in bites again, 5 possibles - less any due to letters eliminated previously. Unlucky!
When you state the number of possibles - how do you know that?Wordle 718 3/6*
only 1 possible...
2 consecutive 3's, feels rare for me. Seems much more frequent for others - but I play rarer starters and hope to avoid 5s.
About 1 in 3(+a bit) I get a 3, so 1 in 10 should get a pair of 3's?
I think it is more like 2%...
I do have less 5s than 3s, and way less 6s than 2s.
Very green flash, how does he do it? One day not so great, the next wowee!Wordle 719 3/6
Chewed up by a group trap. So unlucky to try just about everything except the solution - just having to guess is no reflection on player skill!Wordle 718 X/6
repeat to death
Bollocks!
I extracted all possible answers from the puzzle code ages ago. I could look and know/tell you tomorrows answer but what's the point of that? When you state the number of possibles - how do you know that?
I regularly come up with many possible answers and usually choose the wrong ones first!
Like today, correct on third possible answer!
As long as you amuse yourself, that’s okie dokie then . I’ll carry on playing your guess is as good as mine .I extracted all possible answers from the puzzle code ages ago. I could look and know/tell you tomorrows answer but what's the point of that?
I pattern match in that list to get the list of possibles and then attempt a good strategy aimed at avoiding high scores where possible. (Also means I never send more than a few minutes on a game!)
See my comment above on 6'r: 11 possibles in a full dictionary but only 5 are in Wordle answers list.
The full dictionary included such as "gater" which is of very dubious solidity (alligator slang, reciprocating saw possibly etc etc) and tater (slang only?) but in this case also quite reasonable words like rater, mater and pater (if you are HRH) that will never win Wordle.
What is slightly odd choice is that the puzzle has 2 lists : the answers and all acceptable words. The latter is less than the full dictionary, so Wordle might not accept all of the 11 above.
Just tried "gater' - it won't have it!
Oh actually it will; but I tested a different version that allows you to play old games. Not the same word lists for a start there then!
The NYT version will not accept "bater" from the full dictionary.
