Sure enough the bees in the top box have made new queen cells as expected. As an insurance policy i have taken one of the frames with a cell on and put in a nuc along with a frame of bees and a frame of food, will report on these in a few weeks. The bees who were shaken onto the new foundation however dont seem to have done all that much, though the weather hasnt been that great. Didnt see her maj either even though she is marked. As a precaution have put a frame with an unsealed qc into this box from the top one. I am assured that if all is well in this box they will tear down the cell and if not they will make use of it. Again watch this space.
By using a snelgrove board the top box and bottom box are now effectivley running as two separate colonies, with entrances facing in opposite directions.
