Is it worth going to the dinner on Fri night. (Have to eat somewhere)?
A jeans & checked shirt affair I expect?

Why would you?
I'm already confused by an email from Th0rnes telling me that I can pre order and pickup at the convention. As far as I can see, their sale has ended, so what's the point, I always get free postage from them anyway...

Sale is indeed over.
But very similar prices & seconds are offered at their Convention stand.
To minimise the scrummage, you can pre-order & reserve (online).

But the deals are for sales *AT* the convention, only. These deals are not for delivery - free or paid. (But probably OK to have a pal collect for you. Check.)
And its months before the next sale (dates are in the catalogue).

Simples?

Spring Convention

Going on Friday. Enjoyed last year very intense tho. Booked for dinner as I believe as it's an agricultural college all food prepared on site.
Open early on Saturday it may be 9 but possibly earlier.
My tip get to lectures as early as poss. Missed out on popular lectures last year.

I don't know - quite a few things at the convention (or pre-order) are at sale prices (s/s smoker for £12.00 and all the other things they usually have at sales) Maisies have things on sale too. When you pre- order online you get a sales note so anyone can go to the convention and pick it up for you.

I'll be there, though Saturday only.

Last year, the one talk I wanted to see was full but was repeated in the afternoon and was great. That gave me lots of time to chat to more experienced beeks. I found everyone there to be very friendly and helpful.

Not so different to here?

Does anyone know what time the Trade Hall opens on Saturday?

Can't seem to see it in the publicity.

Thanks.

Dusty

Nine I believe. Maybe I'll see you there - I'll be the one with his hands firmly in his pockets after forking out to repair his vehicle in time for the weekend!

That remind me of Maisies summer sale last year I think the publicity said open from 9 am, not a minute before - I was passing the week before and popped in to get an urgent item for an association member and asked Eric what time they actually started - 9 AM he said, but people are here earlier for the wax exchange so to save congestion (not much parking space there) if they asked he'd serve them - we were there early on sale day and he was already doing a roaring trade. people who turned up bang on time to beat the queues were not well pleased at seeing loaded trailers leaving the sale!!

I've been here all afternoon/evening and have the following observations to report:

It's dry!
Food excellent
Signage improved between venues
Video links in place from main lecture theatres to overflow rooms/theatres
Parking directly outside trade hall different - perhaps pick-up area?
