Just realised I have two rummage mirrors here somewhere - one was a prototype all singing all dancing one from 1996 with a built in torch in the shaft!! Could be handy for midnight queen stealing!!!!:leaving:

I don't know if you have open mesh floors, i do on my hive and if i get on my knees i can look underneath from the back of the hive and clearly see whats dead and if the entrance is ok.

I do exactly this and while i am down there if you have a good sniff you get the pleasure of the smell of a healthy hive (all 4 at the moment).
