just noticed that the bees are gathering nectar from the tamarisk trees ,looking forward to some dark honey.

Tamarisk the USA version of Himalayan Balsam
I tried some of this in Colorado. I guess it must be like Marmite....love it or hate it. I thought it tasted like oily molasses but husband liked it.

never had tamarisk honey, but by the sound of it, it may be like Spanish chestnut honey, very dark and strongly flavoured, yeah! a bit like molasses, mmm, cant wait.
