Taking off honey

The bramble here is basically finished, and that seems to be the end of the near constant flow for the last 2 months. I have seen balsam and willowherb in flower. They are not on the balsam yet. I think I'm going to take what's on the hives and treat for varroa, then requeen the ones that need it.

It's amazing the difference in micro-climates makes to plants flowering times.
Immediately around me the bramble, like yours, is over but 1 mile away (and 600 feet higher) it is just coming into flower....not a single honey bee on them.

agree! my London hives are pretty much done, drove 30 miles north into Essex and my colonies there are bringing in the sweet stuff by the bucketload, Bramble still in flower and Phacelia fields just up the road giving a nice flow.... This may be the first year my countryside apairy outperforms the London one on average.
