First swarm of the season yesterday! Got a call out from a local farmer. A large swarm on a wooden post about head height. Pretty easy collection, no climbing trees, although the nuc we took was a little small and we transferred them to a full size hive straight away as soon as we got them back. Gentle bees although I did get stung 5 times in the fingers as I was scooping bees into the nuc...My fault really. I was just wearing marigolds and the fisrst few scoops went ok, but I probably was a little bit too brusque with the last few and got stung. Finger tips are surprisingly not that sensitive to stings or I'm becoming immune.
 
Nice when you get an easy one! Yes, its even started over here, in cold, grey blighty...
