Swallows.

Greetings from sunny spain,
Happy to report that the swallows nesting on the timber beam in our sun terrace now have five eggs to look after,
last year they never built a nest.
We also have a great spotted cuckoo in the neighbours false pepper tree, which is in full flower so,happy bees.

This is what I found in an unused poly hive last summer. I didn't need the box so I left them to it.

Edit: oops...it seems the photo was too big to load. It was a nest with 5 speckled off-white/tan eggs in it

Thats right. When I opened the lid the first time, one must have been sitting on the eggs and flew out past me. I didn't know they were there and it gave me quite a suprise
