if a super frame is placed in a vacuum chamber and the chamber is evacuated, what happens?

  • honey comes out?
  • nothing?
  • comb explodes messily?
anyone found out?

You're not off work very slightly ill are you?

cappings would pop off then honey would boil

u sure the cappings are the weakest point. i havnt tried comb but i can tell you that vavcuming run honey is fairly spetacular. it is so viscous that it overflows as the air is sucked out. must try some comb when i get my vacum chamber back.

either way i would imagine the capping would come off. They either pop off as the vacuum treis to pull the air between the capping and the honey out or the remaining water/moisture in the honey would reach a point at a certain pressure and boil. This would then puss the cappings off

why dont you make a vid an put in on you tube so we can see what happens

i wouldnt think it was a very good extraction method though!!

i tried it originaly to try and get rid of the bubbles in pressed heather honey. wasnt much preasure tho.just a small jewelery vacum chamber for casting metals.

didnt work btw.

i've got a few (ok ok several) serious vacuum pumps to try it with.
as regard the caps, I imagine a light scratching of the surface will ensure they fail first.

Keep those things well away from the honey. I don't think the environmental health people would like you mixing your honey preparation with your 'marital aids'...
