500ml water to 1 kilo of sugar

1 kg to 1 litre or 1 pint to 1 lb works either way
1:1 for spring summer feed to make wax
2:1 for autumn feed to store for winter

its simpler to tip sugar into jug, (dry) then into pan, fill jug with boiling water to the same level as sugar was, add to pan/sugar and mix, 1:1 works for any amount of sugar

Like your new avatar with some classical Shakespearean words with a bee who thinks he's a highway man, identity crises not quite sure if he is a bee or not to bee a bee lol

Boiling water?

With my Scottish roots:rolleyes:, I just use warm water from the hot tap. For 1:1 it works perfectly well and saves energy.

(Not much good for 2:1)
