Not sure if it is of any use to anyone but I have been collecting these..they hold 5L and cost £1.20 from Tesco full of mineral water..they come with a plastic carry handle that snaps fairly quickly a bit of bailing twine fixes that.

They're great aren't they? Handy size, portable and fairly easy to fill.

Grind them up and turn them into clothing. Not doing so is a crime. I bought a ‘recycled’ jumper made from old water bottles 20 years ago and it’s still going fine. Most people think it’s 2-3 years old. (Maybe it’s time to watch “The Man in the White Suit” again?)

Fwiw: I end up with those from olive oil and occasionally rescued water bottles and mine all have bailing twine on them as well. I use them as watering cans where I have no hose pipe and a number of other applications. Reuse beats recycle here hands down.

I tend to rely on the container the syrup comes in.....

I’m presuming he mixes his own, and considering some of the theories about adding essential like, I can see why some people do.

I nearly died laughing at thornes last year as people lined up to pay for sugar syrup!!!!

I can't believe people actually buy sugar syrup..maybe fondant but syrup come on..it takes no time to mix and add a bit of thymol recipe...
Hi Millet,

Am guessing the thymol is to mitigate the sugar going off.

What quantity do you add to the mixture? What specific thymol mixture do you suggest?

Go back to main page and go to the section marked stick posts, second subject down

Hello there..in the past i have been buying a product called Hive Alive..when using this i add 2.5ml per litre of 2:1 sugar syrup..it stops mould and also helps with Nosema..however my hive count is going up and it is a tad expensive to use Hive Alive these days so i will be using the recipe in the link below this year..

I can't believe that people spend a fortune on little pre packed 1Kg packs of fondant instad of buying a 12 kilo slab at a fraction of the price and spending a few minutes cutting it up themselves. But there we are, each to their own.

Me neither..

And every time you wash it more micro plastics end up in the sea.
