Unlike last year when I didn't have much honey to extract I have found myself with four supers of cappings to render down. After all the crud was removed and the wax generally refined as much as possible I found myself with just 117g of beeswax.
Undaunted I later found I had three old brood frames of 14 x 12 dimension and thought I would render those as well in a separate operation. To say it wasn't worth the heat required to melt it would be an understatement as the quantity of useful beeswax acquired was negligible.
Honey comb looks like it would be heavy with wax but it would appear that the bees make very efficient use of what they have.
We, as wasteful humans, have much to learn from them..
