Ha ha ha ha ha! There are very few places in the world where colonies are varroa free - and this guy does not live in one of them. He is either an i***t, or very poorly informed, if he thinks otherwise. Even if completely free of varroa at some point, they will not remain free of this pest for long!
Drifting, robbing, hive collapse, transfer by drones maybe, etc.will all aid the spread of the pests to recently totally ‘clean’ hives, if they even exist.
No, there are no colonies that are free of varroa anywhere close.
