New Bee
In order to start apiguard treatment, I have removed the 4 supers from my 3 wbc hives. I have extracted the honey from 2 supers from 1 hive. The other 2 hives had not filled their 1 x super each as one was a late nuc and the other a late swarm. some frames are drawn but empty and others are partly filled but unsealed. now my questions !
I have extracted the honey from the 2 full supers and the bees have kindly cleaned them for me to use next year...how should I store these supers ?
How do I store the partly filled frames with uncapped honey until the apiguard has finished in a few weeks, when I shall give them back to the bees. - at the moment they are in a dead fridge in the garden !
I also now have 6 brood frames filled with sealed honey (her majesty disappeared resulting in uniting 2 colonies and lots of stores). I will give these frames to the bees for winter - but how should I store them until the apiguard is done ?
At the moment they are in a brood box with sealed crown boards top and bottom, in the shed.
What about frames with foundation only ? I have put these in an empty hive but the wax moth is bound to find them. Thanks in advance for any suggestions !
