storing honey buckets

i have previously ensured that i didnt stack them in case of swelling

if the water content is around 17% or under...is it ok to stack?

I believe the Thornes ones have instructions not to stack more than three high. It's entirely possible that I imagined reading that though.

no you didn't imagine it - mine are always stacked four of five high though

perfect...so...with decent water content, stacking is ok

I stack four high with a small 6mm board between buckets so the weight is bore by the bucket lid/rim and not the lid centrally.

what weight buckets you have to store 5 levels???
my is 60 and 30Lb

Hadn’t thought of lids failing! Better do something just in case.

Better safe than sorry, I have a piece of duct tape covering a crack in one of the lids

Never thought of lids failing either. I have 30lb buckets stacked 4 high at the minute. Better get a couple of boards to put between them.
