Does anyone know of a supply of good quality SS wire for frames, that won't break or stretch once there is some pressure placed on it please.

We buy all our stainless steel wire from Knight Precision Wire in Potters bar. Decent prices too.

Go for 0,35 or 0,4 mm...the 0,3 is more prone to snapping when highly tensioned. We taken the high tensile hard drawn type. Less stretchy.

Thick wire is good. When you melt the comb, you may use ready wire again.

I'm using this from China (sorry guys - it's cheap !) and it's very good - not easy to break and crimps up nicely:

Thanks everyone for the information.

Definitly want high tensile as I was given some regular SS wire once that was no good at all. I have been using some galvanised .5mm for a few years and you can pull that very tight and it won't snap but not sure it's exactly right these days.

wow CVB did not expect you asking, ( meant in most honorable way )

everyone to there own in thickness but for the difference I would take a 26 guage ( 0.42 ) or 24 guage ( 0.5mm )


dont forget you can get 1/4 kilo for about £8
