This ones done the spam email rounds a couple of times :)
Still funny of course!

Yes maybee .... but what a story!!!

If you like this sort of non story, google "urban legends".

As VM says, these get emailed all the time. The only true one (complete with horrific image) was the guy who managed to decapitate himself while running from police. I recall the police got into trouble for emailing that one amongst themselves - the guy was black, so of course it was racist.

lmao! sounds more like the cops were bored and decided to see if they could clock the speed of the jet! one way to sort out the traffic cops i guess!!:sifone:

Could be right, milkermel. It would have been a HARM missile lock-on, not a sidewinder (which is a heat seeking air to air combat missile) anyway.

Similar to the story of the American warship demanding the recipient of a radio message change course by 10 degrees westerly . on refusing US ship repeated demands to change course , this went on until finally the US captain threatened to ram the offending vessel which responded by announcing that it was a LIGHTHOUSE :)

A US warship DID hit the Channel Light Vessel in the late 80s... hushed up by Mrs T as WE did not want to offend the Yanks I believe?

Don't knock them, don't forget they had SA on the GPS back in those days, I know this fact because I ran up on a reef that should have been more than a mile away, but wasn't due to SA....
