Yes but not in this country! There hasn't been a death from an Adder bite for over 35 years.
Oh that's OK then, next time I see one when i'm walking down Three Cliffs Bay I will give it a smooth. Seriously I admire anyone who likes snakes but just not for me. just one more thing why do people keep them as pets, they do nothing just lie there as if waiting for something to enter

My daughter keeps her python because due to allergies she can't keep the more cuddly pets.

The idea that they just lie there is I assume based on seeing them in zoos etc when she has him out of the vivarium he is very active.

Goldfish are good for me, but I understand kids like to hold their pets so good on your daughter for being so brave

Unless you've got a very expensive accountant whose bill gives you a heart attack...

I keep snakes because they are interesting. Perhaps you should come and see mine because she hardly ever does nothing (no more than you or I). At present she is laying a clutch of eggs; unfertilised but I don't call that doing nothing.

There is nothing brave about keeping snakes or spiders or anything unusual, its just having a level sensible head and the understanding that they are not going to kill/injure you providing you respect and take the time to understand their needs etc.

I believe there was death in this country a couple of years ago, or so, but not from an adder. A keeper of venomous snakes made a mistake.

*****!

(Oops! Forgot the censor! I meant to suggest the venomous snake keeper lacked common sense)

Whoever would voluntarily keep wild creatures which can harm people?

D

I keep lots of wild creatures that can harm people . Bees !

A few years ago a snake escaped from a private collection near me and was seen around the river banks, it was never found and I missed 2 weeks fishing.
PS I know a pest control officer and you would not believe how many snakes they pick up, released or escaped I don't know
