found a large grass snake trapped in a wire cloche yesterday.....

not sure how long it had been trapped but necrosis visible at the pinch point and flies, ants etc around this point and it smelt of rotting flesh

anyway, released the poor thing and cut away the wire (not a v nice job)

i believe snakes have quite a powerful immune system so hopefully it may recover, is that right?

didnt really have a chance to treat it with anything as it was writhing so much to get away

If you see it again, best take it to a wildlife rescue or vet willing to see 'exotics'. They can get sepsis like everything else. Well done for cutting it free and giving it a chance.
