Whether on plastic or wax foundation make sure the legs of the cage go
right through to the other side of the frame and fold over the comb.

Thought we were introducing a queen, not cutting out sections??:bump:

Our own design actually uses a gate which when open
allows bees to come and go.
So why use a cage if you're going to have a hole in it??
Think you've been on the 4X again??:cheers2:

No need,
There's a well known UK supplier that has it nailed already! :bump:

Nope... that there is an introductory cage, and owns a basic flaw
when taking the description literally;
"...this cage is designed to introduce a queen over sealed brood"
/thumbs down/

The other?
..."make sure the legs of the cage go right through [...]"
..."uses a gate which when open allows bees to come and go [...]"
Sooo no cutting out of comb, and bees able to feed a caged queen,
indefinitely.
Clear?

FYI - as an aside - ridgy didge 4X drinkers abandoned the label when
the KIWIs bought Castlemaine Brewerys. Also Xgen and the Millennials
drink "blonde beer", light ales not unsimilar to the hor5epi55 available
only in the USA and SE Asia.
Just so you do know,

It's all Lager full of CO2, not even sure it's available on Draught in our local!
Haven't touched the stuff in 25 years

Back in the day my preference was around the bitter ales
buuut given I worked for a few brewerys in my time it was
probably more of seeking that throat tingle then any
prejudice towards other styles - it is all beer after all.
Rare I crack one these days.

What does puzzle me some is the "anytime" sipping of
whisky - our mob watch a _l0t_ of BBC productions - so
seeing it as being "normal" to drag the bottle out of the
desk draw and pour minimum two shots just beats the
hell outa me (puzzled).
If anyway halftrue you guys gotta be rocking 24/7..!!
No?
Mind you, as a visitor I never saw this 'habit' buuuut
maybe I was among peasants, or the host/s were being
on best behaviour for the rellies flying in....dunno.
/shrug/

In the UK whiskey is only served up that way for two reasons: 1) celebrate the success of a major heist (Boris for PM) or 2) ameliorate a great shock (Boris for PM)

2 issues there;

  1. BBC/factual???
  2. Police live on Doughnuts & Alcohol, (neither of which are well established "Brain food"!
