Well done that man. If he doesn't want his cutting I'll have it?
At a slight tangent. I remember somewhere that sometimes bees use laburnum though I never saw one on my neighbours ancient huge tree. On my way down the coast to St David's one late spring the hedgerows for miles were one huge yellow splash with masses of naturalised shrubs.

Thanks Millet,

I had this plant to identify last night, just got an allotment and it's over the place. Wanted to identify before (possibly) pulling it up!

Yours was much more intriguing (and rewarding) so I stuck on that

That looks like wild charlock to me.
Common weed of cultivated land, related to rape.

I have never seen honey bees on these shrubs just bumble bees and butterflies but then again there is no honey bees in the area where the shrubs are.
I'm growing them from seeds and at this moment in time i have 14 that have germinated in the greenhouse, when they are a bit more established i can fire a couple over.

Hi Millet,

I would love to have one in my garden, would be great if you could send one down, I can help with postage. Tevja.

No problem when the roots get established in the green house i will harden them of out side, and then PM you, they take around 2yrs to get going in this location but it may be quicker further south.

Do the seeds grow from those seed pods?
For the first time since i planted them yes they are pooping up all over in the garden bellow the shrubs , i think i read somewhere they need to be planted around August/ September time for them to successfully germinate at this time of the year.

For anyone interested they have started flowering and for the first time i decided to open a flower up, they are full of pollen and the most nectar i have seen in a single flower, it was actually running out of the flower and down my finger when i squashed the base of the flower it also tasted nice and sweet, i would say this is a definite bee friendly shrub.
