Hi every one! I have lost a v Queen on her mating flight, been over 4 weeks so pop a queen cell in the swarm, now a have a new v queen running around but there are a lot of capped drone cells about should i remove all of these cells?? as there may be a drone layer???

Don't waste a new virgin if you have drone layers there. She will be killed.

If any eggs there- single or multiple??
Single? - find that queen and kill her.
Multiple?- need to do a shook swarm away from the hive site - to get rid of the laying workers.
Only then can you requeen with a new lady.

Thanks heather as there are only a small amount of bee' s there ill save her in the morning and drop a frame of bee's in with her and do a shook swarm.

i had a large swarm, now its down to frame and a half of bees no queen for 4 weeks.
