I was in Singleton Park nurseries on a breakdown today and after commenting on a lovely patch of sage the gardener kindly gave me a few cuttings, "thank you very much" I said working away puzzled and asking myself what on earth do I do with them so any suggestions will be much appreciated

Try various ways if you have enough. Rehydrate in water for a couple of hours, recut the stem just below a leaf joint, Shove a couple in water, take the lower leaves off a couple and dip them in rooting hormone compound and push into compost, leave in a plastic bag ona windo sill, try a couple on a heated tray if you have one and leave a couple just in soil in a sheltered spot outside, see which ones take best

I took a successful sage cutting a few months ago. I simply stripped off the lower leaves, dipped it in rooting hormone and stuck it in a pot of sandy soil. Doing very well now.

I heard you can make rooting powder from aspirin, anyone truth in this?
