So there is no excuse for the beetle being sent over with queens

Viruses are the biggest problem with Queens,such as IAPV among others.
SHB will most likely arrive at some port in a pot plant,or cabbage.

I agree as well.
We have a choice:
Stop imports of queens/packages
or
Carry on and get ready to react when we need to..

Lets stop all imports from outside the UK and breed our own queens. Then hopfully that might just save us from the SHB
 
Who's standards? -FERA's, who seem to be hellbent on implementing mass compulsory medication

What do you mean?
Colony destruction and shook swarm are the most frequent "treatments" applied by bee inspectors. Antibiotics for EFB are now discouraged.
The push for registration is motivated partly by the desire to disprove BBKA bee die-off propoganda with some hard stats.
