Hi All,
We've a few large Cardoons growing in the back garden, they're starting to flower and the bees, honey and bumbles, love them, I like to spend a few quiet minutes watching the bees coming and going. The bumbles seem to dig right into the base of the flower for the nectar but get covered in pollen, the honey bees seem to go for the pollen, today I noticed that some of the honey bees were climbing onto the bumbles and taking pollen off their backs, the bumbles didn't seem to mind, I tried to get a photo of this happening but the honey bees dont hang around for long enough, is this usual behaviour or just mutual help ?

Regards
CD
