Now the wasps are all gone what do I do with the entrance restrictions I put in place to keep them out. Both hives have a solid block with a one beespace entrance, covered with a plastic tube.

OMF with the inspection boards removed.

Should I remove the entrance blocks and install mouse guards at this time of year? Or leave the blocks in place for the winter?

Ta.

Entrance blocks usually have a single entrance one side, flip them over and you have a longer entrance the other side. Mouse guards only needs to be fitted if you have an entrance over 8-9 mm high

Yes it's well worth making entrance blocks with two entrances both 7/8 mm high and dispensing with mouse guards entirely
I'm still seeing wasps but not many round the hives...mostly I see them flying to and from their nests in the now cut hedges.

I leave the entrance blocks in and pin the mouse guards in front of them.

OK, thanks folks. I should have said the the entrance blocks are homemade ones. I'll leave them in place as they are a snug fit so ought to keep the mice at bay.
