I recently bought some calibration oil from Gain Express in Hong Kong but there were no instructions included with the bottle. Can anyone please tell me the correct figure to use to adjust my refractometer.

You could try using you Chinese oil in a refractometer that you know is adjusted correctly?

Virgin Olive oil is I believe around 71 to 72.... close enough for Government work !

bit of a catch-22 if you've only got one

i used olive oil, seems to be ok

or you could always send gainexpress a message, they'll probably tell you

Thanks for all replies.

I've sent Gain Express a message so I'll let you know how I get on and in the meantime I'll check it using olive oil.

Lots of variables here , model , make , type of dioptic oil etc . But on mine ,
Drop one drop of dioptic oil on reference block . Open the cover plate , stick the reference block on the surface of the prism , press gently with finger pressure only , so that it can not slide , then adjust with the calibration screw to make the light/dark boundary co-inside with the reference line ( Brix 78.8% ) .
Hope that helps .
