Rain seems to have been a day late, or the flood warnings issued were premature by a day.🙂

London chaos reported this morning.

Yesterday’s forecast rain didn’t materialise but is due this afternoon, with thunder again.

Was working in Canary Wharf during the storm yesterday. Not seen rain like it for a very long time, was cascading down escalators in places, cars flooded in dips.
Worst part was trying to drive back to Shropshire afterwards, added a good few hours to the journey.

That's the thing about showers, you either get the full drenching or nothing at all. Yesterday we didn't get a drop but others nearby had flash floods!
(Latitude escaped too :))

No rain for 3 weeks.
Withdrawal symptoms.

Lawn growing brown.
Watering is getting me down : on holiday neighbour asked me to water their plants in addition to mine as their daughter who did it is self isolating!

Weekend ashtanga yoga for 90 minutes at 26C was very wet due to sweat though :devilish:

I feel like this year the weather has got confused between North and South, as if it's rotated the country 180 degrees. Warm and humid here, have had rain in accordance with Met Office. Not sure what the flow is doing until I recheck everything later in the week but somebody else's bees are all over my lavender (WFH even if my bees aren't allowed to).

It did arrive yesterday a day late by the bucket full and pretty torrential at times, today nothing was unsure though at times. Managed to get some GRP trims on my new posh shed roof and bandaged all the joints.

Been a lovely day untl about 5pm ... then clouded over, very humid and I think the thunderstorms are coming our way this evening and overnight ... you will usually get them before us as the fronts come in from the west ...

Down here in Fareham we really have a microclimate .. protected by Portsdown hill to the North and the IOW and the Solent to the South and West often take the edge off the worst of the weather that comes in from the South West ...I can drive a few miles to the North or West and the weather changes dramatically ... same in reverse in Winter ... Petersfield can have a couple of inches of snow and we get - nothing !
