No sence in that

Much as I appreciate your 47 years of bee-keeping experience Finman, I'm at odds as to why you think it makes no sense?

The outcome is the same as uniting with newspaper.....just faster.

The question was: "what about adding frames to a queen right colony"

You take a frame, shake the bees off and put the frame into new colony. It needs nothing else. I have done this whole my life.

What is so odd in this jobb.

Only thing is that if the frame has much eggs, they flye here and there. They do not stay in bottom when you shake the frame.

I take often brood frames from 3-frame mating nucs to the bigger hive that the new queen have space to lay more. It is same with food frames, if nuc has too much stores.

To unite colonies is a different question and I never use newspaper or scents.

I have taken eggs and bees from hives and put into weaker hives with no scents or anything. No problems at all. Too much fuss I say!

Busy Bee

Much to do about nothing!!
