A new venture for me.
Having talked with a beekeeping colleague at work I have decided I would like to purchase a couple of new queens. From the supplier info he has given me, September appears to be last month they supply. However I will not have finished my thymol treatment before the end of the month.
Will it make any difference?
Any general hints and tips?
I can always leave it until next year, as main reason I want to try this, is poor productivity this year, and for the experience

Personally I would not introduce a new queen into a hive that stinks of thymol. The bees need to pick up the new queen's smell. I think you can re-start thymol treatment after the new queen has started laying for a good few days. THis way it gets to the fresh brood where the varroa like to lay

I am interested in any comments on this as I have a new queen coming in a few days time and have not treated this hive with thymol yet, just Hive Clean with little mite drop.
