Hi, won this in a raffle. Anyone know what this is for? With excluder is about 46mm. Also, has an entrance. Could be a bottom excluder for new swarms?

It is another piece of useless unneeded equipment.
Thornes sell it as a Bailey Board and state one should use it every couple of years to ensure bees are on fresh comb , more drivel /nonsense to sell or make money.

If I want clean combs I simply plan ahead and use BB's as supers the previous year so I have nice clean combs for broods the next.

Yes, a Bailey board, for a " Bailey comb exchange". I rotate old combs out each spring. I do not go by age, although I mark them up with year they had fresh foundation. I go by how dark or manky combs are. For a Bailey I use an eke with a QE just slipped on. My ekes all have entry holes drilled with a wine Cork bung, so multi purpose. I will not pay suppliers prices for kit I can easily make myself

I have one too. Heaven knows where it came from. I’ve cut an entrance in it and used it a couple of times for Demarees
