Just as i had suspected the virgin Queen from the artificial swarm i did several weeks back did not make it, there was no sign of a Queen / eggs or brood, so i united the Q- box onto the Q+ side two days ago as advised(thank you for the advice ) through news paper.
That is me back to one hive that is now double brood boxes with a hell of a lot of bees in there, i even had to take the entrance block out to allow them access and i did think removing the entrance block would allow the flying bees a better chance of begging there way in to there original spot.
All looks good today with treble the workforce taking in pollen and whatever else, here is hoping i have one strong colony for this summer flow as i took 9 super frames from the Q- side that produced the best honey i have tasted 12lb of it, the rape must have been stored in the brood box as the supers read 16.5 on the refractometer and none of it had or has set solid yet, i just need to find plenty of friends now to give it to. .
Thank you everyone for the helpful advice i have already received over the past year and thank you again in advance for any help in the future.
