Does anybody in the Fareham, Gosport or Portsmouth area have a spare corner in their apiary where I can keep one National hive please?

please forgive me if this is a faux-pas because of quarantine etc as i am not sure how these things work. If you are prepared to help me out then of course you are welcome to inspect them before they go near yours to make sure they are healthy.

I live in PO14 Fareham, I'm new to beekeeping and recently bought a 6-frame nuc from Pa*nes, the bees have been very well behaved so far but I have concerns with one of my neighbours and I would rather move them from my garden to elsewhere. I am of course willing to come and do inspections and other work on the hive myself. There have been no incidents wqith next door as yet but the worry of it is spoiling my enjoyment and causing me a lot of anxiety. I can explain more via PM if you wish.

I have joined the Fareham BKA and asked 2 people on there via email if they could help but had no reply.

Thank you.

I think you will find that they have an out apeiry at manor farm.

Contact and join Fareham beekeepers association. They have an out apiary at manor Farm. Also a member should be able to help you. Have a good programme of meetings with guest speakers etc. for contact details google Fareham beekeepers association.

I have joined them and I have spoken to 3 people on their committee via email about the possibility of finding an out apiary with no response. I'm not criticising as I know they will be busy people with day jobs so I don't like to keep nagging for an answer.

I guess speaking to people face to face would get a better response. After all they don't know me from Adam (or Eve) because I've only just joined and haven't met any of them yet. But unfortunately I can't go to their bee and honey weekend at Manor Farm this weekend as I play in a brass band and we have gigs which were already booked before I found out about the bee weekend.

Good luck with the assoc but..

The more normal method is to go looking for yourself, and then approach the land owner and say pretty please may I use that bit over there... and I will give you x amount of honey.

I am on my 5th site due to relocating and this method has worked very well for me over the last 20 odd years.

Shame about the neighbours but it does indeed happen.

I'm still looking. I have followed up a few leads which haven't come to anything. If you can help please let me know. Thanks :)

Have found somewhere after a tip-off from a local Freecycler.

Impatiently waiting for hive straps so I can move them :)
