I have been trying to find the best resolution for my digital microscope camera, so I had to show single pollen grains or a mixture to obtain the correct picture I wanted.
The pollen grains are in the range of 20-30 microns in size.
The magnification is X1600.
Some show the cytoplasm oozing from the grain, this is the protein that the bees feed on.
I am fairly happy with the outcome as quite a lot of definition on the grain is visible.

I have just realised the camera I took these photos with was set for a magnification of X1000 and NOT X1600.
The photo's below are all magnified at X1000.
