I had a plywood boat. It was fine as long as I kept it under a sheet. Once the water got a chance to soak through, it rotted.

I am not a nautical man but...... Isn't a sheet a rope??

I have a fair number of ply hives i just soak them in danish oil and leave them to dry out for a few weeks. But i have noticed they rot quickly if not treated well enough. 5 litres of danish oil does about 20 hives that roof, 2 supers, one brood, floor if not mesh but danish oil has shot up up in price i payed £20.00 for 5 litres now i'm paying £30.00 and i'm only talking within twelve months. And it leaves a lovely sheen to the grain i treat them every three years thats a rough estimate.:p

I bought a brood box in ply from them and it was very difficult to put together, poor design and I will not buy again.
Check out Caddon hives in Scotland I just bought some cedar boxes from them only a few quid more than the ply and they are really great!
Best
Louise
PS I am not on a commision! ha!
