My wife’s offered to get me an Oz Armour beesuit for my birthday. Looking at the first UK site to come up on google, I see they do a three layer, a two layer and a semi ventilated suit. So, Mille has the three. The others who have the Oz suit. which one have you got? Is the two layer worthwhile?

Thorn thats exactly what i wanted to know too. How do you know which one is best for uk climate (this year excluded) And is a full suit worth it or just the jacket type. So much choice.

I have the 3 layer as when i researched, I thought that this was the one with the sting free gurantee and the others were earlier and therefore cheaper versions

The breeze blows straight through all 3 layers so remains cool, certainly compared to a normal material suit

It’s the spongey bit between other two layers (all of which have holes for air to pass through) that gives it the depth to stop sting reaching

There’s my non technical description!

Don’t know about double layer

I went for full so legs protected and I wear shorts to keep cool

I'm a little bit shorter by about an inch, the Large should be a perfect fit.

Mine is the three layer, for comfort it's a vast improvement over ordinary suits, much cooler. The veil set up is slightly different, there is a sun screen on the top and a nylon brace that holds the hoops rigid. This is on the top of the veil and it keeps that well away from your face but the zip fastens a little too high on the chest, which means the mesh can get close to or touch your chin. However, there is a fair amount of material on the hood, below the mesh so after I zip up, I just pull it forward and it seems to stay there. Some struggle with the zips and the velcro but I've not had an issue. There is a velcro strip to seal behind the zippers and a flap that encases the pullers and seals the lot. Once done, just catch each side of the veil and pull forward.
I know that bit sounds like faff but it really isn't, even the nylon brace.
The suits weigh a bit but they certainly don't feel heavy to wear, quite the opposite.
Another thing to be aware of, they are dirt magnets

I ordered a Large but they sent a XL.. after modifying the huge veil with a needle and cotton it fits spot on.. i would rather a bit of bagginess than it being too tight when stretching high up..
Here is a picture of me in a XL..which you can see is not overly big.

Oz armour is the best fits absolutely perfectly the only thing you have to make sure of is when you are doing the zip up under your chin you need to make sure you fold in the zip tags to make sure there's no hole left for any beers to get in.

The seal around the waist is 100% safe.. if it was not i would tell you.. i have been among very angry bee's moderately angry bees and i am yet to get stung while wearing the jacket.. i do get the odd sting on my legs but i do not care.. it is my face that i do not want to take a sting which happens when unsuited but at the end of the day that is to be expected.. if i was closer you could borrow my jacket and you would see how safe you are when wearing it and also how light they are when it is on.. the air flow on your body while working with the bees is something else.. for some reason i feel cooler as soon as i put the Jacket on..

I went for a Sentinel Pro 3D. Same as other comments for Oz Armour I have worn this with just shorts underneath and not a single sting. On top of that they are cool. Air moves straight through the fabric - brilliant

Ditto. You do need a very slight breeze for optimum effect - but this suit has made working the hives in the current weather a pleasure (just a pair of shorts underneath).

Made in Pakistan.

You can wash them at 40C.....as I was doing. However, the instructions say cold wash only. They are definitely dirt magnets. Better for a good overnight soaking in oxyclean.

Washed or should I say my better half washed mine on a cold wash and it came up like new. They are very white though and seem to attract muck or is it just me ?

Was checking out an Italian company Quarti who claim to buy in from OZ Armour from Australia and re-label with their own name. Looks like the genuine article as it's also Made in Pakinstan.
